Another cacky Monday.

Today was pointless, I had Leadership in PE, we had to shout nursery rhymes across the gym. Why, that's not really leadership, is it? That's shouting nursery rhymes. Apparently it's life skills, and that's something I'm going to need to do in later life isn't it. Shout Twinkle Twinkle across a smelly hall full of other people screaming Baa Baa Black Sheep etc. and getting really het up. You know when everyone makes a really loud noise and then they all stop and you are the last one left, ranting away? Maybe not. You might not be bullied into this sort of thing. That happens to me, that is what is wrong with PE lessons.

Physical education? Tssh. I want to do jogging again.

I'd like GCSEs to be over now, and for it to be summer. I'd like to go to Devon and spend my evenings on the beach with a poorly constructed fire eating marshmallows on sticks and lukewarm spaghetti hoops with bits of ash and exploded pebbles in them. That is a pleasant way to pass the time.

In art I planned out my final piece, although working out the dimensions I discovered that the canvas is going to need to be 1.3m tall which is a little excessive, considering I have barely any time to do work as it is. I have sort of decided to do some people sitting in a summer house with a big mirror and the reflection of a really formal garden with a cascade. Much like the one at Chatsworth but without the huge contemporary sculpture. I found a nice photo with a really gnarled tree which I might use in a National Trust 'engagement diary'.

Après le lycée was opera where I spent the entire hour and a half learning how to flick open a fan, it may look easy when they do it on the TV/On the stage/In martial arts, but it is bloody hard when you are given a dodgy fan. When I broke the first one the 'director' looked like he was going to weep. He wouldn't have known had I not been named and shamed by little Alex.

There are some dogs living in one of the houses down the hill which always start barking around 7 'o' clock, sure enough they have just 'gone off' it's like they're on a timer; or are kept in a soundproof box for most of the time and are let out for a couple of minutes to disturb everyone, so the owner can have a bit of a laugh.

I fancy baking some biscuits now, I have an excellent recipe for some chocolate and almond shortbread(dy style thing)s that I found which I will write on here if anyone's interested.

Ciao for now 'readers' (Leah)

Photobucket is working again.

That is the painting, finally.

I've been for a 7.25 mile run today and it looks like someone put my feet in a mangle. They hurt so much. But I'm really proud of myself.

Colour of the day - Electric Blue.
Song of the day - Alsatian, White Rose Movement. I'm addicted.

In a bit.

Update Shocker

Hello children, I've just remembered that this blog exists and so I have decided to update. It's not so easy writing every day when you have 48 hours worth of coursework to do all the time, but my work is done so I'm back and I'm going to attempt to keep this blog going.

I have decided to turn this into a sort of art blog, it would be a music too if I was technologically advanced enough to put things on here for download. I'll just say what I've been listening to and tell you to look for it on hype machine or whatever.

So, as an introduction, I like art, painting mainly, and I'll put pictures of my work up here as I do it.
My art is generally unpretentious, don't go expecting big squares of colour with bits of cereal glued in them using animal fat, I go for the acrylics & oils and the images of things that actually exist.

My most recent painting is acrylic on board and is a painting of me in an arboretum as a 4 year old (ish). I found the photo whilst looking through albums the other day and the blossom and blue dress made me feel really cheery because the weather was crap. So I painted it.

I usually go in for a really detailed, realist style and my Dad's always telling me to try something a bit looser and less fiddly. I'd been looking at some impressionism books the day before so I tried something a bit more painty and textured for the plants.

Ok, I'm trying to upload the picture but my hard drive is so full I think it's slowed down my computer. Does that happen? I'm not good with computers really. I only use appleworks, iphoto, photoshop and safari so don't come correcting me all about the place.

I have a few newish photos on my flickr account, not many admittedly but do go check it out, want a look?

The photo of me in the garden won't load onto photobucket despite it being a small image so I'll have to do another post later with that in it. Later.
